ATMISSISSIPPI MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES
This page will describe any recent changes in
the format
of the MMHR site or in services offered.
In March 1998, the "clickable"
graphic of the state was added to the main index page.
In January 1998, this site switched from Netscape to MS
Frontpage as site maintenance software.
As of 8/15/97 fees for "limited sponsorship" were
discontinued and the MMHR site began listing areas of interest or expertise for individual
clinicians at no charge. Also, the java script banner on the MMHR home page
was removed in order to speed access.
The background for our homepage was changed on 6/8/97 and
the logo was removed. These looked good, but tended to slow down access to the
page. The new page design isn't quite as fancy, but is more functional.
On 5/1/97 this site launched a "listserv" mailing
list which is open to all providers of mental health services in Mississippi.
On 4/30/97 we officially began commercial operation and
started accepting sponsors for this site. Sponsors are those exceptionally talented,
bright, and self-actualized persons who choose to contribute to the welfare of their
fellow Mississippians by helping make this site possible... and who also receive the
opportunity to present detailed descriptions of their services on what will (hopefully!)
be the most widely accessed source of mental health referral information since the dawn of
time.... or at least since Bill Gates' complexion cleared up. Of course,
sponsors who don't provide direct services to the public, but who want to describe their
skills/interests here are equally appreciated!
ON 4/13/97 MMHR expanded its services to include a
"bulletin board" section which will serve the professional community as a place
for sponsors to announce upcoming opportunities for continuing education, job openings,
and other related information.
On 4/11/97 MMHR received its own domain name (www.msresource.com) and
moved to its permanent commercial site.
