PSYCHOLOGIST II: Mississippi State Hospital,
located 15 miles southeast of Jackson, has an opening for a Psychologist in a large
dynamic department. This is a uniquely challenging opportunity to positively affect
both program development and psychological intervention in a 1300 bed inpatient
psychiatric hospital. Specialized units include: adult admissions, adolescent acute
care, chemical dependency, forensics, intermediate treatment, continued treatment, dual
diagnosis (MI/MR), and geriatrics.
- SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE: psychological assessment and diagnosis, group and
individual therapy, family interventions, program development and coordination, treatment
planning with an interdisciplinary team, supervision and training.
- QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must possess a Doctorate Degree in
Psychology (clinical or counseling), including the completion of two psychological
testing courses and one year experience in work related to the above described
duties. Licensure or license eligibility is preferred.
- SALARY RANGE: $38,486 , or higher--commensurate with qualifications. Benefits

courses and at least 2 years experience in work related to the above described
duties. Professional Counselor Licensure is preferred. Mississippi does not
license psychologists at the Master's level.
